Prevent Excessive Buffering During Broadcast

Poor connectivity may cause excessive buffering. Modify the buffer settings within your player to improve the quality of your broadcast playback.

Windows Media Player

  1. Click Tools, located on the Media Player 9 toolbar. (Click arrow located in top left corner of player to show toolbar if it is not currently displayed.)
  2. Select Options from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click the Performance tab.
  4. Select Buffer ____ seconds. Fill in "15."
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click OK.


RealPlayer

  1. Click Tools, located on the RealPlayer toolbar.
  2. Select Preferences from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select Playback Settings under the General category
  4. Select Buffer up to ____ seconds before playing. Fill in "30"
  5. Click OK.
